Opaque 2.1.0

May 15, 2025

Thanks for using Opaque! This release focuses on enhanced input flexibility, improved Azure deployment experience, and ongoing integration of our new UI design system.

New features and enhancements

  • Input variable support for dataset and date selection: Data analysts can now specify dataset and date variables when running jobs, allowing flexible reuse of the same job configuration across different data inputs. The UI includes validation to ensure variables are correctly typed, with error handling for unsupported values.
  • Updated Azure Marketplace VM: Opaque’s Azure Marketplace deployment now uses an updated virtual machine image to improve provisioning reliability and align with the latest cloud infrastructure standards. No changes are required for existing users.
  • Ongoing UI design system integration: Continued progress has been made on rolling out the new design system across the Opaque UI. This release brings updated styling and interaction patterns to additional core components, improving visual consistency and usability. The integration now covers a majority of the platform, with final updates planned for an upcoming release.
  • Various backend improvements, internal tooling updates, and infrastructure optimizations to support future releases.

Known issues

Issue Workaround
On the Data Management page, filters can extend beyond the visible screen when too many are applied or labels are too long, making some filters inaccessible and unremovable. No workaround.
In multiparty workspaces, reviewers cannot access submitted jobs containing query variables due to the error: “Only job creator can make changes to this job.” No workaround.
