Users

Opaque lets you analyze sensitive data and run secure jobs—without exposing raw data at any point. Before you can begin, you’ll need to sign in, accept your workspace invite, and optionally contribute data if requested.

Once inside a workspace, you can explore datasets, author custom notebook logic, or run no-code jobs—all in a confidential, policy-enforced environment.

  1. Sign in and accept your invite.

When you sign in to Opaque, you’ll land on the Workspaces page. This shows all workspaces you’ve joined or have been invited to join.

    Note

Be sure to sign in and out once before using Opaque to activate your account. Otherwise, workspace admins won’t be able to add you to their workspaces.

If you’ve been added to a new workspace, you’ll see a notification in the upper-right corner. You can accept the invite directly from Notifications, or click the Invites tab on the Workspaces page.

Once accepted, the workspace will appear in your list. Click it to open the workspace and get started. You’ll only see workspaces you’ve been added to.

  2. (Optional) Add datasets.

Some users may be asked to contribute data to a workspace. If that applies to you:

    • Select Data Management in the left-hand nav.
    • Click + Dataset and follow the steps to upload your schema, data, and rules.
    • Configure who can access the data and whether test data should be generated.

    For guidance, see Managing data.

  3. Start processing data.

With datasets available in your workspace, you’re ready to run secure jobs. You can either write your own logic or use a no-code template:

You can test queries with synthetic data (notebook jobs only), run approved jobs on real data, and view results—all within a secure, policy-governed workspace.
